Deep Structural Foundation

Drilled shafts, AKA drilled piers, caissons, or bored piles are deep foundations used to support structures with large axial and lateral loads by excavating cylindrical shafts into the ground and filling them with concrete.  They are used to support  signs, light poles, traffic signal strain poles and mast arms.
