Charlevoix Drawbridge
The Charlevoix Bridge Lighting project took about two and a half months to install over 3,000 color-changing LED lights, which are programmed to change colors and scenes for a variety of different holidays and events throughout the year. The structural arches were lit by installing 32 LED fixtures, which do not change color to accentuate the painted blue steel. The embankments are lit with 8 color-changing flood fixtures to create dimension and blend color under the approach spans.
However, the main focus is on the 3,000, two-inch color-changing lights mounted under the bridge guard rails. These lights make things pop and can be seen floating under or driving over the bridge. Most people didn’t even know the project was happening, as most of the installation took place through the night and was very hard to see during the day as they tucked up out of the way. The unveiling occurred on July 4, 2019, and has been operating every night since.
