The Charlevoix Bridge Lighting project took about two 2 1/2 months to install over 3,000 Color Changing LED lights and is programmed to change colors and scenes for a verity of different holidays and events throughout the year. The structural arches were lit by installing 32 LED fixtures and does not change color to accentuate the painted blue steel. The embankments are lit with 8 color changing flood fixtures to create dimension and help blend color under the approach spans. But the main focus is on the 3,000, two inch color changing lights mounted under the railings of the bridge guard rails. These lights really make things pop and can be seen either floating under, or driving over the bridge. Most people didn’t even know of the project was even happening as most of the installation took place through the night and is very hard to see during the day as they tucked up out of the way. The unveiling took place on July 4th, 2019 and has been operating very night ever since.
